Image Links Not Working

  When I type in the caption and create a link on an image, the image then disappears and all that shows on the post is an HTML code with a link. The image does not show and disappears from the post until I delete the caption with the link. This has been happening for the last few weeks on every post. Help!

  This is for https://littlegoldenage.wordpress.com/ yes? Can I see this on your homepage?  Or is it a specific place I need to look at?  

  I’d like to see the “broken” image with the HTML code so I can take a closer look at it directlyThanks for pointing it out!

  I just put a link on an image on the home page and you can see it shows the code instead of the image.

  It’s not possible to link individual images to their own URLs using the Gallery block as you tried to do there.

  Only the Coblocks Masonry block and the Coblocks Collage block galleries allow you to add custom links to individual images, so try using one of those options instead:

  The link was to a different web page.
  When I put a link to a totally different page on an image, it shows up as that html link to the image itself.

  Yes, I understand that it was a link to a different web page. It is not possible to add links like that to images in a gallery block.

  It’s possible on single images, and it’s possible on images in Masonry or Collage gallery blocks, but it’s not possible using the standard gallery block or the tiled gallery block.

  I have always been able to put a caption with a link to a different page on images in a gallery. For years. When put images in Masonry or Collage blocks those images do. not allow captions at all.

  @actuallyjessica after a closer look I see this is an issue that other site owners have also reported and the devs are already working on fixing it.

  For the time being there is not a workaround, so you will need to avoid links in your gallery captions for the time being, but we hope to have a fix soon. You can find more details and subscribe to updates here:

  @actuallyjessica I wanted to update you to let you know that this issue with gallery captions has been fixed. This fix will not resolve the issue on existing galleries (if you have any on your site with broken captions) so to fix those, you will need to either:

  – Recreate the gallery
  – Restore a revision of the page from when the gallery was working

  But for any *new* gallery you create, you will be able to add captions without any issues. Hope this helps!
