Image map as header

    Hello all,
I have searched the past conversations about Image Maps and haven’t found the answer to this question yet.
I have created an image map and have the HTML code ready to insert, but I don’t know where I am supposed to put the code. I feel like the answer should be obvious, but as this is my first WP account after using other services, I feel like i’m fumbling around a little.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there. I’m not sure I understand what you are asking. Are you trying to use an image map as the header of your site? If so, It is not possible to insert an image map in the header of your theme at WordPress.com, because that involves editing the template file itself. This is something we do not allow.

This is something you can do if you have a self-hosted WordPress.org blog, however.

    I hope this helps.

This was done once in the past by hallluke by putting it into a text widget (I think that was how it was done) and then moving that text widget up and into the header position using absolute positioning in the CSS, but I was not involved in it.

If you put the code into a text widget and put the text widget at the top of the sidebar I can see what I can do for you. Do check after saving the text widget to make sure that the code does not get stripped out. It shouldn’t, but then one never knows if staff have made changes to what they allow and what they do not allow.
