Image next to link when sharing

In my old blog, when I would post the address link to Facebook it would display my profile picture next to link. When I post it now, it’s just a blank space. I would really like to have that feature back but I’m unsure how to make it happen. I tried setting it as a featured picture but that just showed it on my blog post and i don’t want it there. I just want it as kind of a logo so to say when i share my link. Thanks!

We have no control over the images that Facebook or any other social networks chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.
