Image not deleted

I have permanently deleted an image from my blog but it is still there under its URL – https://danieldrummondharvey.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/martine-mccutcheon.jpg – how do I get this removed?

Did you delete the photos from a Post / Page or from the Media Library itself?
Deleting pictures from a Post or a Page does not delete them from the Media Library and does not free up any space. To free up space you need to delete pictures directly from the Media Library.
Caution: when deleting pictures / files from the media library make sure you delete the correct ones as the will also be deleted from anyplace they are used on your site.

Hi Tony, the photo was permanently deleted from the Media Library and is not showing up there any more, but it still showing under the URL.

To keep things running quickly around here, files are held in multiple caches through a separate system. These caches are usually cleared within 3 days.
Guess you should wait for a few more days.

Clearing your browser cache will remove the image locally for you. Here’s how you do it:
That is not going to remove it from Google search engine results, though. Eventually it will drop from their index. If you’re in a hurry to have it removed please get in touch with them directly here.
