Image not showing in post link on social media

I’ve inserted an image into my post that I want to be featured as the thumbnail for it when I share the link but it keeps reverting back to the thumbnail for a video that’s at the bottom of the post…is there any way to override this?

Not every theme has featured images; only some do. Your theme does have them https://wordpress.com/themes/hemingway-rewritten/ Go to that page please for set up instructions. The associated support doc is at https://en.support.wordpress.com/featured-images/
We have no control over the images that Twitter, Facebook or any other social networks chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.
