Image not sowing on homepage
-
I have import from my other WordPress blog and change the theme here. However, I can’t find how to make the images for each post to show on the homepage.
Also, I can’t figure how to change the navigation menu at the top of the homepage, as well as change the social media icons.
I’ve used WordPress for years, and this time you have me stumped. Please advise. Thank you very much!

Hi there,
I’m happy to visit your website and share my opinion with you. To make the image for each post show on the homepage, you’ll have to set the featured image for each post.
>Go to your_site->Posts->All Posts.
>Click on those posts to open in the editor.
>In the settings on the right, locate the Featured Image section from where you can set the Image.
>Update the changes after setting featured Image.
Here you will find more detailed information https://wordpress.com/support/featured-images/
Thank you. -
Hello!
Thank you for your assistance, and suggestions. I have located the Featured image for each post, but then I see the image twice on each post (at least in the editor) is this normal .. as I don’t like it?
Here is what help area suggested, however, none of this seems to be on the theme I have chosen:
“
Go to your WordPress.com dashboard.
Click on “Appearance” from the left sidebar and then select “Editor”.
In the editor, you’ll be able to customize your homepage. To display images for each post, you can add the “Query Loop” block to your homepage layout. This block will pull in and display your posts with their featured images.
To change the navigation menu at the top of the homepage, you can edit your site’s header. In the editor, locate your header and add a “Navigation” block to display a menu. You can customize the menu by adding the links you want.
To change the social media icons, you’ll need to edit your site’s header as well. In the editor, add a “Site Logo” block to display your logo or social media icons. You can customize this block and add your social media profile links.” -
Okay, so I set the featured image in the latest post on my homepage. I see two images, the one for the blog post with caption, and then the featured image. If I remove the image for the blog post, then the featured image shows up both on the home page and on the post, but then there is not way to add a caption to the picture with link that I can see? Please advise. Thank you!

Update: So to add a caption to the featured image, I used a paragraph block below the picture. Is this the way it is to be done now? I’m used to just posting a picture and it shows up with caption from the media file, both on the post and homepage. Using featured images for one picture posts seems more complex. Are there any themes still that do what I’m used to? If so, will my images show up then on the homepage? Thank you!

Hello! I found another theme that uses Post Formats, and the images came into the homepage as I’m used to. Thank you for your direction.

Hey there,
As mentioned, on these forums, we can only assist with WordPress.com related issues. Therefore, I wanted to remind you about the option to migrate your WordPress site to our servers.
The content alone can be moved by exporting from Tools > Export, and then imported as per these steps here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/ (Tools import). To get the storage you need, and to be able to use a custom primary domain, a paid plan would need to be in place: https://wordpress.com/pricing/
Alternatively, a site can be migrated into WordPress.com, as is – including all content, themes and plugins. We make the migration process easy with the WordPress.com Migration plugin, which you can find at this link: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wpcom-migration/.
A site being migrated into WordPress.com using this plugin would require a WordPress.com Business Plan.
We provide a fully managed hosting service with a custom server environment, specifically optimized for WordPress. This means you’ll benefit from built-in security measures, performance improvements, and in-house support to address any questions or concerns you may have.
Migrating your site to WordPress.com may initially seem like a daunting task, but the advantages of our fully managed hosting service outweigh the effort involved.
