Image on a 'category page'
-
Hello
I have created a menu that uses categories to create a page with selected blog posts, phew. The thing is while each post shows its featured image nicely, the page as a whole has adopted an image from somewhere (it is not in my library). How do I change this image (which acts like a featured image). I have no header page set up.
Many thanks
Michelle

Hi Michelle,
With the Affinity theme activated, the blog page and archives pages, such as category pages, display a custom header image. The theme’s design is such that if you haven’t assigned a site header image, an image from among the default “suggested” images will, by the default setting, be randomly displayed. See the suggested images at Customize > Header Image. These images are not in the media library, so they can’t be removed, but you may hide them.
If at Customize > Header Image, the box labeled Current Header says “No image set,” then click the Save & Publish button to hide the default header images from the blog page and archives pages.
If the box labeled Current Header says “Randomizing suggested headers,” then click the button labeled “Hide image” and then click the Save & Publish button. This will prevent the default header images from displaying on the blog page and archives pages.

The biggest problems I see with this set up include:
1. The default header images are shown, randomly, by default on the blog page and archives pages. In fact, the images are displayed by default despite the box at Customize > Header Image > Current Header saying “No image set,” though this default setting was apparently unsaved (by default). At least that’s what occurred in my test, though this might have been due to a non-default setting on my test site, which I’ve used with other themes activated for numerous previous tests).
2. The default header images are not in the media library, so they can’t be deleted.
You may add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic if you’d like to ask staff about the possibility of removing the default header images from the site.

Thank you for both your answers I have made sure the current header says ‘no image set’ – it already did but I added an image and then hid it to be sure. I also added to a modlook tag to save other users this problem.
Sorry, I was slow in responding, I foolishly posted my question and then went on holiday.
