image open in new tag(none apply)

    I’ve searched the forum for opening images, that’s in a gallery, in a new tab/window. can’t find how to do this simple task.
    I’ve seen add target=”_blank”… can’t add to HTML text editor (in WP)because it uses [gallery ids="file"]
    the option to edit photo does not offer a place to add target=”_blank” nor any place to check open in new tab/window (although) i did see it once before.
    is there a global setting to open pictures in a new tab? after all this is how almost every site does it. you want to keep visitors on your site, not wonder off…
