Image optimization

  Am presently preparing an article which is a series of high resolution detailed pictures.

  I would like for anyone to be able to download the pictures in the same high resolution, that is without being optimized.

  A test shows that the size is reduced so what is downloaded is a a much smaller file and is of lesser quality.

  I would like to preserve the images as they are uploaded even though this will slow down the loading of the article.

  Is there any way to fix this apart from posting a link to the images elsewhere like Flickr?
