Image placement

  Everytime I try to place an image in a certain place, it appears as a ‘new block’ below (or above) the existing content. The WordPress help page says to place the cursor where I want the image to appear, but it never works when I do this. Is it the ‘blocks’ setting? Can I get rid of this? I used to be able to place images anywhere I wanted on a page, and now I can’t… Will appreciate any help!

  Hi @unbecca, so you place the image and it appears above or below the content, but what happens if you click the align button so the image can align to the left or right? Does that help? This should make your content go around the image. It sounds like that’s what you’re trying to do, but if I’ve misunderstood, please send more details and we’ll help how we can.

  Hi — Thanks for your reply! I’ve tried clicking the align button but all it does is align the image WITHIN this new block, instead of placing it where my cursor is within the existing block.

  I did discover a work-around by copying the image from its new block and pasting it where my cursor is! Then I deleted that new block. Voila!

  I still can’t place an image within an existing block, but at least now I can paste the image so it creates a new block where I want it, instead of way above or below all existing content (several blocks).
