  I travel a lot and therefore have many pics I would like to share with friends and family. I don’t want to slow down the website loading or have a whole page with just images.

  I would like to have a post/page with text and 2-3 images and a link to more pics, if the viewer is interested. Can anyone suggest the best way to do this i.e. plugin, store additional pics in cloud, flikr? Google photos or another way via WordPress.

  Thanks for getting in touch.

  It sounds like you might do well with using galleries to display images. Check them out from https://en.support.wordpress.com/gallery/

  With this you could essentially create a post about a particular location. Write text and insert gallery(ies) as you want there. And if you have additional photos in an online place you could add a link in that same post as well for folks to take additional look.
