Image Previewer Popup through CSS?

  Hi,

  I am quite new with CSS, and I am wondering if it is possible to have some sort of a Image Previewer Pop-up thingy like one of the plugins hosted on WordPress.org called “Colorbox, Jquery”. I do not seek perfect replica of such plugin, and I am well aware that the plugins can not be hosted on WordPress.com due to security reasons. A similar yet simple effect is enough to justify my needs.

  Having this would greatly benefit on the way I organize my photos, so I am looking forward to all of your replies.
