image quality

I am running the orvis theme which is great however the images on the blog page are not sharp due to compression. How can I increase quality? I have seen your tutorial on this subject but there is no where on my settings to add the data. It would be nice to install the resized image quality plug in but is this possible?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy blhphotoblog!
To be able to achieve the right quality of the images, you can try to follow the guidelines provided here on the Ovris Theme page.
If you read through the page, you will get the idea of the sizes, the featured image needs to be 924 px wide to give the best quality, also at the bottom of the page you will see a section “Quick Specs” which would give you further details of the Pixel sizes for the other images too. You can resize your images and configure them again to achieve your desired quality. You can use external tools to resize the images.
Also, there are a lot of Plugins available to help you with it as well, have a look at this search result https://wordpress.org/search/resize+image
To be able to use External Plugins, you need to be a Business Plan user, to be able to install them and use them.Hope either of the solutions helps, let us know for any further assistance..!

Thank you pavanraheja. I have read the orvis theme page and adjusted max pixel count in the media settings. However the problem is images published on my blog page lose a degree of sharpness, images on my portfolio (home) page are fine. When creating the blog post the images are as they should be, also when previewing the post. It is when published I notice the quality drop. There is a way of disabling image compression in WordPress by adding a code to the themes function php file. However I cannot find the orvis theme function php file, the dashboard looks slightly different to that in the tutorial. I am not very computer literate and need guidance.

Hello again!
Having a closer look at the blog, if you are talking about the Blog post, like the Blog “Heath Fritillary in Essex” , the butterflies seem to be appearing very fine, I tried to check it on a Retina display(Mac) and a Non Retina(Old Windows) screen as well, probably you can try to upload a higher quality image and see how you get the feel on the screen. If you check this Retina Displays
So WordPress adjusts the size, you can try to upload a double quality image and see how it goes.
Also, what screen are you checking the images?
Let me know, how it goes!
