image quality after migration
-
hi all,
i just moved here from msn space, i am happy to found all my blogs are transferred here, however, most of the images (except for one or two) are in terrible quality. it seems that they are over compressed…
i had downloaded my original blog and the images in there are just fine. so i am wondering if i can upload the original blog into wordpress?my blog was mostly about travelling and photography, so the images are kind of very important for me…please give me some advice!
thank you.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Similar problem here. Although my case is even worse since many images are mixed up in different blogs where they’re not supposed to be.
Any way to fix that?

Thank you very much justjennifer.
I’ve already submitted my question. By the way, how long usually does it take for them to reply?
Apologize for posting my question in your thread, elgar1127. :P

elgar1127, the top two images on your blog: the horizontal image is being displayed at 788 pixels wide, but the original image is 640 pixels wide. The vertical image is displayed at 768pixels wide, the original image is 320 pixels wide. That kind of forced “resizing” seriously reduces the image quality.
@hys17 Response time: My experience has been within a day or two at the most, and hopefully the response time hasn’t been too badly affected by the number of new users having migration problems.

If image quality is poor when i preview my post, I upload the image to photobucket and use the html code to post it on my blog. It shows up perfect.
Copy the html code from the photobucket.com site.
Open the dashboard for a new post.
Click “HTML” in the right corner of the post.
Paste the code.
Convert back to “Visual”.
All you have to do at this point is preview the post and maybe adjust the size of the image.
