image quality desktop computer vs. cellphone

Why do my images look better on desktop computer than they do on mobile device? I am very frustrated – I compress all my images and I have my blog set up for mobile users, but for some reason my images look more saturated on my desktop computer. When I view them on my cell phone, the photos look really lacklustre. WHY IS THIS?? It is very important that they don’t look like that because most of my viewers use their phones to look at my blog. Please help! Thank you

Hi, Marlyset! First of all, AWESOME PHOTOGRAPHY! I checked out your blog on both my laptop and my cellphone. I understand as a photographer that it’s important that your photos look as good as can be! You photos look awesome on my laptop and phone. Its not uncommon for photos to looks slightly different on your mobile device due to color calibration and resolution. Your photos are saved in the sRBG color profile which is good because the images will display more consistent results across different platforms.
Some phone displays are better suited for true color reproduction than others though. I have a high resolution screen on my phone and I can confirm that I see no noticeable difference between the desktop and mobile photos. Of course, results can vary from one phone display to the next. I do not feel it’s an issue with the mobile version of you site. Your photos look great to me! Keep up the good awesome work!

Aw thanks so much for the kind words! And thanks also for the advice- that does make sense. I guess my phone screen doesn’t have the best display.. I’ll sleep easier knowing there’s not much more I can do :)
