Image Quality Worsened

    Hi WordPress

    I noticed a significant drop in image quality on my recent uploads. I tested by uploading the same image from this post at 800px. In the post itself, you can see the image is sharp and clear. But in recent posts, including one in my drafts/scheduled posts, the image resize has made my images severely blurry and low quality.

    In the post editor, the images look good. But in preview and once posted, compression messes them up significantly.

    All my images are optimised for the web (saved for web) and under 300kb. I tried saving as sRGB and it does not help at all.

    Is this due to a change in the wordpress system? How can I maintain the original high quality image?

    I am having the same problem, can someone enlighten us if WordPress.com applied any default compression and how to remove this limitation?
