Image removal from site pages

  I need to be able to delete the images from my site that apparently came with it when I set it up – while I am certainly capable of acquiring new images, is it really necessary for me to upgrade in order to lose the images I don’t want on my site?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi,

  It’s never necessary to upgrade in order to remove or delete images on a WordPress.com site.

  How to delete images from your media library that have been inserted into a page or post, from three different starting points:

  1. From the media library — See the Deleting files from your Media Library section of the Deleting Files support page.

  2. From My Site → Media — See the option “Delete” in the editing options in the Attachment Details section of the Image Settings support page.

  3. From My Site → page or post editor — Open the page or post editor, click on the image, and then on the pencil icon, which is labeled “Edit media.” Then proceed as in #2 above.

  Some other alternatives, wherein the image is removed but deleted from the media library:

  • You may also remove an image in the classic page or post editor, without deleting the image from the media library, by clicking on the image and then clicking on the “X” that appears among the editing options.
  • If the image is in a block, then you may remove the entire block as described in the Removing a Block section of the WordPress Editor (Block Editor) support page.
  • You may delete the page and create another to replace it.

  I don’t see it in the public view but on the back end there is an image and some text on what looks like the homepage – how would I remove all of that? I did it one day last week and I can’t remember how I did it – also I have a question regarding menu design AFTER this issue is resolved once and for all

  It DOES however say ‘Nothing Found’ on the public face of the page
