Image settings after upload – help urgetly needed!

Where do I find image settings like margins now – they have disappeared from the media window, making it absolutely useless for me now? What’s happening here?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Well I found a way to work around it … but I think it is not as convenient: I’ll have to set the margins, spacings etc. in HTML code now. Only if I change the image size there, I have to change it in the image edit box again to effectively change the window size – so I have to use both views after posting media. It’s a hustle, I am sorry to say.

    Hi there,

There were some recent changes to the Visual Editor and Image Editor. You can read more about those changes here:

Regarding the margins, spacing, and borders, you will need to adjust that through HTML code for right now as that has been removed from the image editor.

Only if I change the image size there, I have to change it in the image edit box again to effectively change the window size

When I change the size of the image through the HTML code, it automatically adjusts the size of the image. I don’t need to go back into Image Details and change the size there as well. Is that what you’re noticing on your side?

Thanks for your reply, Jeremy. Having to go back to image details to make sure the size change really happens is what I meant, yes. It happened again today: I first change the image size in HTML, then have to go into image details to change it from “full size” to “custom size” in the drop down menu which then lets me see the image size – the one I entered in HTML – in the two boxes. Strange, isn’t it?

    Hi!

Ah – I see what you’re referring to. When you insert an image into your post, it’s tagged with a size attribute (thumbnail, medium, large). In order to change the image’s size, the attribute needs to be set to custom. This occurs by default when you click the corner to drag the image to become larger or when you manually change it within the Image Details. However, if you adjust the HTML code, the setting will not change. Does that make sense? So, going forward, I would recommend changing the size from the Image Details rather than through the HTML code. Can you give that a try and let me know if that seems like a workflow that works for you?
