Image Size and Block Editor
-
I have blogged while travelling for quite a few years now. I have been uneventfully blogging for the past month in India and now, as I get to the very end of this trip, I am having problems.
It is suddenly forcing me to use the Block Editor. I have gone into Settings and toggled it off but it is still doing it.
The reason I don’t like Block Editor is that I can’t resize the images the way I used to. Previously, while editing, if I just tapped on the image, I would get two choices: Remove Image or Edit. If tapping Edit, I could easily scale to one of four or five pre-set sizes, and also realign the image. That functionality has disappeared. I really want to scale down the images and I can’t see how to do that.
When Google and check WordPress support, it is referring to things that I don’t see on my screen . . . .
Thanks,

Hi Janet,
what’s the address of the blog in question?
I can change the default editor as Classic, if you’d like. However, not that on the Block editor you can easily resize the image by clicking on it and dragging the borders, have a look: https://d.pr/i/QuEagt
You can also change the size of the image in the right sidebar. Here’s more information about it:
There’s also a Media&Text Block that allows you to add image and a block of text right next to it:

Thanks for taking the time to respond. I didn’t reply until now as I was travelling from India back to my home in Canada
The difficulties that I was having seem to be due to the fact that was using the WordPress app on my iPad when posting about my India trip. Now that I’m home using my PC, the interface is quite different. I can easily see how to resize pictures using WordPress on my PC.
When using the tablet, it was easy to resize them using the Classic Editor but not with the Block Editor. There must be way but I couldn’t figure it out.
The blog is http://www.janettomkins.wordpress.com
But I think it’s all right now.
Thanks again,

Ah, thanks for that Janet. If you’d like, you can submit a Help ticket from the iPad, and the mobile team there can check to see what options you’re using and make suggestions.
