image size and resolution

  I need to know what size (in pixels)/resolution I should use for my header image. The image is the full width of the page and also covers almost all the screen height wise as well.

  I am not sure this will help but I would recommend a height of 200-300px height I hope this points you in the right direction.

  I really don’t have a problem with the height, as the layout of the theme seems to adjust with whatever height image I use as the header. However I dont want to lose quality in my image I transfer over from photoshop. So I would like to know what size (width) image I should be working with there. Being the image will be so large, I would like it clear as possible.

  Given the theme, an image size of 1200×300 at 72dpi would be as good of resolution as you can get. Anything else would be overkill.
