Image Size in Posts (Oxygen Theme)

    Hi there,

I hope I can explain this properly.

I was using a basic point and shoot, low resolution camera before so I used to upload the images full size, and then size them down to fit the full width of the post. It worked well, but I realized this wasn’t a good long term solution as eventually the images would take up too much space.

I recently upgraded to a DSLR camera, so on the latest post, I resized the image before inserting it into the post. However, it automatically inserts as medium, and even after I change it to full size in the media editor, it still reverts back to medium. The size of the image varies, based on whether its portrait or landscape, but I know the pixel width is large enough for the post width. The only way I can get it to be full post width is to physically stretch it to full post width, but then it looks awful and fuzzy. I’d like to avoid uploading the original image (pre resizing) as it would be way too large and I would go through my storage space rather quickly and probably slow down the loading speed of my blog.

Is there a way to work around this?

Here’s an example of an old post (inserted as original image size, resized down to post width):http://harmonyalacarte.com/2014/05/06/sesame-seaweed-super-hero-snacks/

Here’s the latest post (resized high quality image) – I’d like the landscape images to be full post width: http://harmonyalacarte.com/2014/05/15/spring-barley-with-asparagus-peas-and-lemon/

    Thanks in advance!
