Image sizing
-
I’m perplexed! I set up the images in my article the size and position I want them to be but when I press ‘preview’ they all become super-sized! How do I avoid this and keep them as something close to how I want them to appear?

Hello,
You can adjust the size of the image, while uploading it. You can Full-size, Large, Medium and Thumbnail. Please refer the following Help Article:

Sorry for the typo:

@oncaledonianroad, I also noticed you’re using images in full-width sections, which makes them spread across the page. If that isn’t your intent and you need more help, let us know.

Thanks for your kind offer. Yes, I certainly don’t want them to appear as full-width. Another responder pointed me to the Image Size Guide (https://wordpress.com/go/tips/controlling-wordpress-image-sizes/). However, what it says there doesn’t correspond with what I’m seeing. At the moment I’m using the ‘Inline Image’ option to upload the image from my library as I can’t see any other means of uploading an image. In the guide, under the ‘Block’ heading it shows a choice of sizes. However, when I click on ‘Block’ it doesn’t give me these options. I have been trying to control the image size by using the width setting. This is clearly the wrong approach because when I go to preview the images immediately become full-size. I’d be very grateful for any help you can give me so I can maintain the images more or less at the size I want. Thanks in advance!
