Image slider for a gallery post Baskerville 2 Theme not working

  I would like to apply the image slider for a gallery post from the Baskerville 2 Theme on my home page. I have tried everything, including the instructions as written below, but it is not working. Have tried it via /wp-admin as well. Also different galleries don’t seem to make a difference.

  1. Add a Gallery
  2. Set the post format to Gallery.
  3. Go to My Sites → Customize → Content Options and make sure the “Automatically use first image in post” option is unchecked.

  Hi there – could try uploading the images again within the post you want the slider on? The gallery images need to be “attached” to the post for this special feature to work, and right now your images are attached to other posts.

  Let me know how it goes.

  Hello!

  Thank you for your quick reply. I uploaded completely new pictures that were not on the website before. These work! So, does that mean that the slider feature only works with new pictures – ones that not already posted or use on the website before?

  The way the special mini-slider works in Baskerville 2 is that the images need to be “attached” to that post. Image attachment is a little bit tricky, but let me try to explain how it works. The post in which you first upload an image is the post to which the image becomes attached.

  If you upload the image directly in the Media Library before inserting it in a post, it is “unattached.”

  If you upload an image in one post, and then later add it to a gallery in a different post, it it remains “attached” to the first post.

  You can check image attachment in the WP Admin Media Library here:

  Switch to “list view” by clicking the first icon here:

  

  In the column “Uploaded to” you’ll see whether an image is either unattached, or which post it’s attached to. From here, you can unattach an image, or attach it to a post of your choosing.

  In this way, you could take images that have already been uploaded an attach them to a new post – say, a post where you’d like to use the mini gallery slider.

  I know this is a bit tricky, which is why I suggested re-uploading the images as a simpler route. :) Do let me know if you have any other questions.
