Image slider on every page
-
Hi, probably a silly question but is it possible to customise a theme so that an image slider is displayed instead of a ‘featured image’ on posts?
I’m looking at the Ladder Theme, but Pictorico would work too.
Not actually got the site up yet, just playing with ideas at this point.Cheers

I think my question is similar… I thought that some blog themes would do a slider on the front page if featured images were used in the blog. I want to use the Oxygen theme for that very reason but I can’t seem to find the place that makes it look like the other blogs I’ve seen with this theme: http://radiantwild.com/ and http://emilyluxton.co.uk/ for example… I changed my theme to Oxygen on my site http://emunaendeavor.org but it doesn’t have any options anywhere in the customize or settings or anything. Where should we be looking so we can get this information?

And… if it doesn’t work on wordpress.COM, then how does one get their blog changed to wordpress.ORG?

Please consult the detailed theme description here http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/oxygen/ There are also many threads that explain how the Oxygen theme is designed to operate.
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/oxygenIn Oxygen you can either (1) have a Home page that displays your posts or (2) have a static front page ie. a Showcase template. http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/#setting-up-a-static-front-page
Page templates can be set under the “Page Attributes” section on the page editor screen. For more information on Page Attributes:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/page-attributes/Showcase page template
When you first activate Oxygen, you’ll see your posts in a traditional blog format but if you’d like to showcase your content in an online magazine-like fashion, then you can use the Showcase Page template. …Post thumbnails are 470 pixels wide, unless you make the post Sticky to show off in the featured slider, in which case they’re 750 pixels wide. Keep in mind: if you mark a post as Sticky but the featured image is less than 750 pixels wide, then it won’t display in the slider and will still disappear from the river of posts.
Please be aware that you cannot crop the sticky post thumbnails.
Sticky post thumbnails are 750 pixels wide in the featured slider
Regular post thumbnails are 470 pixels wide

I changed my theme to Oxygen on my site http://emunaendeavor.org but it doesn’t have any options anywhere in the customize or settings or anything.
Go to > Dashboard > Appearance > Customize
http://emunaendeavor.org/wp-admin/customize.php?return=%2Fwp-admin%2F
The guide for using the customizer is here http://en.support.wordpress.com/customizer/ -

The differences between WordPress.COM hosted sites and WordPress.ORG installs are found here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
WordPress.COM is a turnkey operation. Generally speaking that means if one wants to be up and blogging without any coding issues they choose WordPress.COM. And, if one wants to faff around with code and site building then they hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up a WordPress.ORG software install.
