Image summary
-
I follow mostly photography blogs and when I’m in the reader, I love to see the preview of the photo. It used to be where I could just look at it in the reader and click like and comment right there. The way it is now if an image doesn’t show I have to go to the blog to comment and view the image. Sometimes that’s nice and sometimes I like doing that but I like the decision to be left up to me.
I noticed in another thread that you said if enough people complain, perhaps this will be put back so I’m here to complain lol.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I am having the same problem. Even though I always have pictures in my posts and I set a featured image, in the reader, my image doesn’t appear. I think it’s affecting my new reader traffic.
Many of the other posts I see in the reader have an image. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks. My blog is MyOBT.wordpress.com.

Oh for your own blog you need to go to Administration>Settings>Reading and change to Full Text Summary.

I also just realized that people can’t be followed from the reader or from the preview when you click on their title. You need to actually go to their page to follow them. Is WordPress trying to discourage follows? Why?

I’m just a regular user but if you are in the reader and you want to follow someone, look to the left at the three dots. Click that and then click follow.

I was having the same problem with images not showing in the reader. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t when in all cases I have a featured image. I found the admin setting that lauramacky suggested and it seems you can either choose full text or summary, but not both.
When I changed to Full Text from Summary then the image to my recent post did appear, though I have yet to discover what else this setting will change.
