Image Thumbnail and Hyperlink Problems

  Hi. After 2 years of satisfaction, for the last few days I’m very unhappy with WordPress. Every time I try to link to my post on a different website (Facebook etc), the picture to be featured always is the main on my blog and NEVER the one on the post. Also, the hyperlinks that would automatically appear at the bottom of the drafted post NEVER do now. I don’t know what’s happening. Please help me! Thanks.

  Hi there,

  Every time I try to link to my post on a different website (Facebook etc), the picture to be featured always is the main on my blog and NEVER the one on the post.

  I tried sharing a post of yours on Facebook on my end, and it appears to attempt to pick the first image on the post automatically: https://cloudup.com/cnZLfDImkKl

  So to better understand what you are mean you say things changed, can you give me a little more background information?

  – What services (other than Facebook) are you trying to share your posts on.
  – Does this affect the automatic shares you make based on the settings you have in Settings>Sharing or with posts you share manually, or both?
  – You say this happened recently. Are there any other changes that you made to your blog around that time? Even if unrelated, it may offer a clue.
  – Have you set a Featured Image for all the posts you share? Most services look for this image first, before looking for one of their own.
