image thumbnail not expanding to full size.

  I am using an image as thumbnail in a post:

  great acheivers with mental illness poster

  (the last picture)

  I do not use the thumbnails often but i thought if you click on them, the image would be displayed at full size.

  The full picture is 1000 pixels wide, but all i see is a smaller picture in my browser.

  can anyone tell me what i am doing wrong? how to fix it so the picture is at least bigger?
