Image upload error

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there,

I accidentally deleted a few images from my gallery on WordPress thinking It would quicken the upload time it was taking, however I didn’t realise that deleting those images off of my gallery actually deletes the photos from my article as well.

The problem I’m having is that when I try to re-upload the deleted photos, it keeps coming up with an error message and I have no idea why or how to solve the problem?

Any help will be greatly appreciated as I’m so upset with myself for creating the problem as I feel it’s ruined one of my best written articles :(

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Jessica

    Hello Jessica,
It seems like a browser issue.

    So try this:
    1. Clear your browsers cache and cookies.
    2. Login again.
    3. Try uploading the images again and see if it solves it.

    Let us know. Thanks! 🙂

    Hey Jess,

If you are facing problem while uploading the images. Their can be 2 cases.

    1. Browser issue.

    1. Clear your browsers cache and cookies.
    2. Login again.
    3. Try uploading the images again and see if it solves it.

    2. Upload limit.

    1. Check your storage if it’s full delete some images or try to compress them.

    Hi there,

Thank you very much for your help, however I’ve tried that just now and it hasn’t worked :( still comes up with the error during uploading.

A note I should of added is that I’ve had to recover the images from my computer’s recycling bin in order to try and re-upload them as I deleted them from my documents after the first initial blog upload. Would this be part of the problem?

If not then I can’t see any other way of solving this issue apart from creating a new blog and copying everything over to that?

    Thanks again

    Jessica

    Hey Jessica,

That shouldn’t be a problem but make sure you don’t use duplicate name of images as this can cause a problem some time.

No that should not be a problem, because files in the recycle bin are stored on your disk.

There can be problem tho if you permanently deleted(even from the recycle bin) the files from your computer and recovered them using some application.

Don’t do that yet. Let’s try some troubleshooting option before doing that.

    Try this:
    1. Go to WordPress.COM from some other browser you have.
    2. Login and try uploading it now.

Let us know if the problem persists on other browsers too.

  • @jsh2 can you tell us what error you’re getting when you try to add new images? That will help us troubleshoot. Thanks!

  • Also, if it’s an http error, sometimes it just means the connection is a bit rough right now. You might try a different internet connection if possible.
