image uploader not working correctly
-
I have been using wordpress for quite some time now and last week I went to post a story with pictures and I now have an unfamiliar upload screen. I get as far as the page that allows you to click show and then nothing. It stays on that screen, no editing, tagging, no title no anything, no other button to go home or otherwise…what is going on. I have never experienced this until last week. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance :)
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes. Please post the URL for the blog in question starting with http:// so we can begin to address your issue.

I also have problem with the image uploader. Please let us know what to do since I cannot upload anything. When I selected images the browser just went to a blank screen.

Same issue. I select file to upload, it crunches, allows me to add in alternate text ect. When I select to add it to the post, it goes to a blank screen. I have tried both visual and HTML input using the flash, browser and HTML input methods.

I’m afraid that none of the blogs whose URL ends in /blog are hosted at WP.com and we won’t be able to help you with those.
many people are experiencing issues at Wp.com with the image uploader. For some, it appears to be a flaw in the latest version of Flash and switching to the browser uploader fixes it.

This only happens to me when I upgraded to WordPress 3.00. Maybe you guys can send out a patch to correct what was on the Version 3 that causes the images to freeze on a blank screen. I tried to click on the botton that says DONE and an error message below appears.
Webpage error details

You’re in the wrong forum, same as those other guys. We are using different software here.
-
And I have absolutely no issues with the flash image uploader, even uploading multiple images.
You do really need to ask over at .ORG though. If it’s an issue chances are they have a fix.

I have no idea what you guys are talking about. but my issue is the medium size option is too small and the large seems to big. is there a way i can resize it without using photoshop?
-
Yes, but I’ll tell you on the condition you not hijack threads in the future.
Just put the full-size version in and either:
1) drag the corners till it’s the size you want IF using the visual editor
or
2) set the size exactly in the HTML editor
or
3) click on the image to select it in the Visual editor, then click on the Mountain icon, then change either height or width. Leave the other attribute blank, so that WP keeps the aspect ratio. -

Make sure your web server is running PHP 5.
I recently upgraded to WP 3.0 and experienced similar problems. After going through uploader error messages, I determined my web host (1and1.com) was running PHP 4 by default. Turns out I had to specify which version of PHP (4, 5, or 6) I wanted to use.
A simple edit to the .htaccess file, provided in their FAQ, set my site to use PHP 5.
Now, no problems with the Flash uploader and everything works as intended.
