image uploading

‘Post-processing of the image failed likely because the server is busy or does not have enough resources. Uploading a smaller image may help. Suggested maximum size is 2500 pixels.’ I get this response repeatedly, I have tried on Chrome and on Edge. I have tried resizing the images and it still does not work. site address playing trains.wordpress.com

Started with 800×600, downsized to 640×480, still failing to upload. It’s been like this for over a week now. At first I thought it was because broadband speeds had been reduced due to the coronavirus and so many people working from home but the issue seems to be more concerned with how the WordPress servers process the images after uploading.

I have tried to upload a big picture (10mb) to your media library and had no issues with that (no worries, I’ve deleted it already) so it seems like a local issue.
Are you having this problem when uploading the files to https://wordpress.com/media/playingtrains.wordpress.com or are you uploading it directly to a post?
Also, have you checked your connection speed? You can copy-paste your results from https://www.speedtest.net/

Hi,
I actually have exactly the same problem and I really don’t know what to do.
I’ve tried resizing many times but it still doesn’t work since yesterday. That appears suddenly.Could you help.

Please look at my colleagues last reply. Go to https://speedtest.net/ and see what your upload speeds are. I’m guessing they’re reduced due to coronavirus and many people being home, online, at the same time. You can try to upload the image at an off time and I bet that will work – very late at night, or very early in the morning hours.

@huynhcong it sounds like your site is not hosted at WordPress.com. If that is right, you will need to ask your question in the WordPress.org forums here to get help: https://wordpress.org/support/forums

Yeah same issue here. Same issue since November actually, before the coronavirus. Cant upload my VR images that are 10 – 20 mb each. I found a way around it previously by eliminating the file size limit in the php.ini file, but that didnt work this time around and I dont know what to do.
-
Just to update, I eliminated the max file upload size in my php.ini folder, saved it, then tried to upload, and the photos would not upload. But then, just for fun, I made the maximum resource execution time under “Resource Limits” to 300 instead of 30, and tried to upload again. It caused a critical error on my webiste, but lo and behold there are my 10 mb files! And I was able to use them in the VR plugin that I have. SO STRANGE. WordPress Devs plz hop this and fix asap.

I don’t see any WordPress.com sites under your account here.
What is the URL of the site with the problem?

I only see a self-hosted WordPress site in your account, connected here via the Jetpack plugin. We can only help with sites hosted on WordPress.com in this forum.
For help with your site, please ask at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/ instead.
