Image URL?

  I want to add an image within a text widget. But I don’t think I have the html code right, or else I’m not finding the correct URL for the photo. I am thinking it’s supposed to end in jpg or another photo format?
  1. First, I went to the media library and copied the “Permalink.” Is that right? If not, where do I find the correct info?
  2. Next, I pasted it into the text widget using this code:
  <img src=”http://flair4genius.wordpress.com/about/blueblair1/”>

  That’s the link for a post, not an image. The link for the square image is:
  http://flair4genius.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/blueblair1.jpg
  The link for the rectangular image is:
  http://flair4genius.files.wordpress.com/2008/05/blueblair.jpg

  I got those just by looking at the page and right-clicking “Copy image location”. That’s the easiest way.

  That can’t be the image link. The url is all wrong. The only way I know how to get to the url is to go to the write screen and chose add media. Then click on the media library, find the image you want and click on “Show.” The Link url box is about midway down.

  What I usually do, though, is insert the image into the post at the size I want, then switch over to the html tab and copy the information from there and paste that into the text widget. Tedious, I know, but it works.
