Image URLs fail to remap to domain name
-
I moved from self-hosted WordPress to WordPress.com account by importing an XML file, then mapping to my purchased domain. Some images display OK, others don’t. But big problem is that every image seems to retain the URL of my colinpurrington.wordpress.com. I thought there would be some automation that fixed image locations, not just all the pages and posts. Is there a way to fix the URLs globally? The only option seems to be deleting every darn image in my library and starting over. That would be depressing.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

For example, here’s one of my pages that has an image at the top:
https://wunderkammera.com/tips/poster-design/
The image seems to display (to me, at least), but the URL is this:
https://colinpurrington.files.wordpress.com/2017/09/scientist-presenting-poster.jpg
I don’t understand why the conversion doesn’t automatically change “colinpurrington.files.wordpress.com” to my custom domain … like for all the pages and posts. The problem exists for hundreds of images and PDFs in my media library.

Hi there,
I’m not sure I understand. Neither of those domains are mapped to us, but if you imported to the WordPress.com site your images are supposed to be referenced at the colinpurrington.files.wordpress.com URL, as that is the URL of the media library. Adding a custom domain to your site does not change the media library URL.
