Image use and Copyright

  Hello all,

  I have a blog on blogger which I will be moving over to wordpress shortly so that I can integrate a shop.

  Anyway my question is about how to credit images properly. I find that I am really restricted in my writing at the moment as I don’t know if I am able to use certain pictures and therfore it often puts me off creating a post about a particular topic, such as reviewing a product. So far on my blog I have been contacting small businesses to see if they are happy to be featured on the blog. I am then contacting the photographer so see if it is ok to display product images. Is this the right way of going about things? If a business says I can use their photos that have been taken by a professional photographer for commercial use then do I still need to get the photogrpahers permission even if the company say that it is ok for me to use their photographs? I have noticed a lot of popular blogs doing product reviews that don’t credit their images at all which I am a bit confused about. I would really appreciate help with this.
