Image view in ios – Cubic theme

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi,
I just publish my first post today, using cubic theme. There’s a header image on front and are two images inside the article.
These images can be seen in desktop views and in android mobile platforms. But we are having trouble in ios platforms. Some friends can see second image where some can see none.
What can I do for this problem?
    Thnx!!

  • Hi there, I’m not sure why this is happening – I see the second image missing on iOS – but to rule out something, could you try removing the double quote marks in the image ALT tag?

    Current

Unutma; “Bu yol sadece ve sadece senin yolun” Mevlana’nın da dediği gibi..

    Suggested

Unutma; ‘Bu yol sadece ve sadece senin yolun’ Mevlana’nın da dediği gibi..

Let me know when it’s done and I’ll recheck the post.

    Hi again,

I replaced ” with ‘ . But I still can not see the header image both at main page and within the post; and third image within the post. I’m using Iphone 5

Besides, I’ve already tried deleting all images and re-uploading them. But this did not work either.

Do you have any more suggestions?

    Thnx!

  • This took some digging but one of our developers has found the culprit, and it’s an issue with the way we’re serving up the WebP file format to Safari. We’ll continue to investigate and keep you posted here. My apologies for the inconvenience.

  • After further investigation it looks like the issue is not what we originally thought. Instead, it looks like the problem is that Safari is unable to recognize the JPEGs that came off your Samsung NX Mini camera.

    Works – https://sinoloco.files.wordpress.com/2015/07/img_08381.jpg

    Doesn’t work – https://sinoloco.files.wordpress.com/2015/07/sam_27991.jpg

It seems the file format being generated by your camera is not being recognized properly by Safari. This could be a glitch either with the file format your camera is generating, or a bug in Safari itself.

You could try running the images from this camera through a tool that strips out the EXIF information first, as a workaround:

Let me know if that works, and I will pass along any additional information that comes in on my end as well.

    Hi,
I removed exif data out of pictures, and loaded all again. I just tried it with my personal phone but it seems quite working! (:
I’ll make my friends check also.
I really appreciate for this help.
    Take care!

  • I’m glad that workaround did the trick!

    Hi again,
thanks to you, android and ios platforms are ok. But, according to friends, we are still having trouble in windows tablets ): Instead of pictures, they are seeing big blank space.
Do you have any idea about it?
    Thanks!

  • Unfortunately I don’t have any other workarounds to suggest other than not to use that camera for your blog images. :-(

Can your friends with Windows tablets see these images?
