Image Watermark plugin on WordPress.com please
-
I’m looking for an easy way to watermark all the existing images on my WordPress.com blog. I see this plugin… https://wordpress.org/plugins/image-watermark/ …which I think would be perfect… but it’d require me self-hosting, and I’d like to avoid that. It’d be great if this was made available to WordPress.com users. Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. I agree this could be a useful feature. On the other hand, do you optimise your images before you upload them, for example resizing them to a proper size for online publishing so you don’t use up all your media storage space by uploading high-resolution images. While resizing, just add the watermark as well.
For example, I resize images with the export feature in Picasa, which at the same time adds a watermark. The Picasa watermark is limited to a signature or copyright notice in the bottom corner, so if you want something like a full-image watermark to prevent unauthorised copying, just find another image editing program that will allow you to do that.

Thanks for the reply, kokkieh, and yes, I have a number of solutions that I can do watermarking with, without a second thought. My personal choice is Capture One. It has this fun “Process Recipe” feature that’s worth checking out. However, I decided to start watermarking my pictures after I’ve already made over 40 posts, each with 10-30 pictures. It’s a pain in the ass to replace all of them. I wonder if it’s easier to try migrating to WordPress.org and back, just so I can use the plugin, but I’m sure that’d end up impractical for other reasons as well.

Editing already-uploaded images is more trouble than it’s worth, yes. I can understand you not wanting to do that :)

If there was a button in wordpress software, that a blogger could slap onto a pre-selected location on the photo (ie. bottom right) for watermark copyright sign and signature ….before uploading into Media Library. It would be a great feature.

And this suggested feature, slap the watermark across other existing Media Library photos too as a choice for blogger.

This is a while you are waiting for that to happen response.
Hi there,
There is no FTP access and no blogger installed plugin capability on free hosted WordPress.com blogs.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/See here for a full comparison WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org
http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/There is no upgrade you can purchase here that provides FTP access and the ability to install plugins and or any third party themes. If you want FTP access and to install plugins or third party themes then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install. WordPress.com and WordPress.ORG have different logins.
If you use the Duotone theme right click is disabled. It’s not available on any other themes here and will not become available as it creates a false sense of security. Anyone can find instructions on the internet and get around it in less than 20 seconds flat. What’s best is watermarking your images or not placing any images and/or text you don’t want stolen on the internet at all.
