Image Widget in the 20-10 theme
-
I’m using Firefox and the Twenty-ten theme. I’m configuring the Image Widget, but the image won’t display in the blog. I didn’t have any trouble uploading the image to WordPress. The sidebar size is 200 px. I tried sizing the image at 200 px then again at 150 px. I’ve included instructions to centre the image and have included the width and height of the image. Per WordPress troubleshooting instructions, I’ve deleted my browsing cache and cookies. Any other ideas?

The problem is, that image does not seem to exist. http://jpmclean1.files.worpress.com/2012/07/business_front_01_scaled2.jpg
Try uploading it again, with a new name?

I’ve uploaded it again with a new name, image-widget, but still no luck. Do you have any other suggestions?

I’m afraid I’m out of ideas. That URL doesn’t seem to exist either http://jpmclean1.files.worpress.com/2012/07/Image-Widget.jpg but the blog is obviously not private.
Could you try making a simple text widget instead? I use the Visual editor to write it as if it’s a draft post, then click to the TEXT or HTML tab, copy all the code, and put that in a text widget.

Thank you Raincoaster – you got me thinking – I must have had the wrong address for the photo and I did. I copied the URL from the Media page and pasted it into the widget and now it’s working. Thanks for your help. I’m curious now about your comment “the blog is obviously not private.” Should it be?

No, it’s just that the last time I ran up against a similar issue it was because the image was hosted on a blog that got set to Private. POOF! Image disappeared.
