Image widget issues

  I’ve been trying to upload an image using the image widget. I followed the directions to upload the image to the media library and then pasted the URL into the widget. But it’s not sized properly- the pic is huge and distorted. How can I fix this?

  I am having the same issue. Also with the pic for the background- huge and distorted.

  The bg image shows up huge because that’s what you uploaded: a huge file straight out of your digital camera. It’s 4368px wide, while most users’ screens are narrower than 1200px, and very few users have screens wider than 1500px. You need to edit a copy of the image in an image editing application to scale it down to a reasonable width (no more than 1500px), optimize it for the web, and upload that copy.

  Same thing for the sidebar image: you need to scale it down to the right width for your sidebar. For right width see here:
