image widget not available

  Hi, I just got wordpress up and running. In the list of available widgets, Image Widget is not there. I’ve looked all around and don’t see it anywhere, not in the inactive list, not anywhere. I deleted my entire wordpress, reinstalled, and still not there. Is there anyway to add it as a plug in or restore it in some other fashion?

  It sounds as if you are talking about a self-hosted blog. If you are, then you are going to find a lot of widgets and built-in feature that are at wordpress.COM missing from the self-hosted version. You will have to find plugins to replicate those missing functions and features, or build your own in a scripting language such as PHP or javascript.

  Also, the support forum for self-hosted wordpress blogs is at http://wordpress.ORG/support/. These forums are for wordpress.COM hosted blogs and we cannot help you here.
