Image widget not working

    Hi – I’m having trouble editing the image widget in my sidebar.
    I attempt to enter the url for the image url from my media library:
    when I click ‘save’ the url disappears, there’s no image, and I’m prompted to ‘configure the image widget’ when I look at my site.

    Having been familiar with this widget and used it successfully for a few years I am a bit bamboozled!

    An example of an image from your media library would be
    https://needled.files.wordpress.com/2015/08/dearg12.jpg
    Is that the type of URL you are getting from the media library and adding to the image widget?
