Image Widget – Open New Web Page for the Link

  • Unknown's avatar

I have a working Image Widget on my WordPress Blog – EagleCountyTimes.Com (image of a Police Scanner)
Image shows up OK, and the web link that the (Image) is attached to works too!

HOWEVER – when the users click on the image – they are taken away from my blog….

WHAT I WANT TO KNOW…is (looked around for the answer didn’t find it) (HOW?) do I make JUST a new window open up, when a user clicks on the image…I don’t want the user to leave my site – only have his browser open a new window so he can listen to the Police Scanner in that new window…

I couldn’t figure out how to add the traditional HTML target=_blank tag to what WordPress offers with their Image widget….

Please advise if you know the (trick?)

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Not possible. Use a text widget instead.

Yes, but would be an excellent suggestion none-the-less

Thanks Panaghoitisadam – using the Text Widget instead of the Image Widget was “the ticket” as they say. I now have my Police Scanner image (now clickable) to a new page that pops up as a new HTML web page.

On that web page located on a different server is where my JavaScript executes to make my Police Scanner a live audio feed!

Thanks! Really obvious after I did it!!!
