The images in my blog post used to open larger when clicked on. Is there a way to make that happen in the new format? At some point the posting switched to a new format and I hadn’t realized that the photos I put in the blog posts no longer open larger when you click on them. Thank You.

That’s a known issue with the new editor https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/editor-feedback?replies=749 but that issue does not exist in the classic editor.
You cannot deactivate the new Beep Beep Boop editor but you do not have to use it. On the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts > Add New
To create posts in the classic editor for you that link ishttps://losfarringtons.wordpress.com/wp-admin/post-new.php
On the dashboard of your own blog at
Dashboard > Posts > All Posts one can hover over any post title and click the Edit link. and proceed with editing.
