I’m quite new to this, only been doing it for 6 months. Members of the site send me photographs they would like on the site. I put their photos thru Irfanview and resize them and add some text to them. I then upload them to the media library and then display them using a medium size thumbnail. The viewer can then click on the photo and it will enlarge the photo. Suddenly it stopped doing that. All the older postings still work the way they are suppose to but the newer ones don’t. You can click to your hearts content and the photo will not enlarge. I’ve noticed that the cursor changes to a hand on the ones that work but remains an arrow on the ones that don’t.

I’ve even used a photo from the section that still works and put it in again and it doesn’t enlarge.

Has anybody run into this problem and how can it be fixed? I use the free version if that makes a difference and please keep things as simple as possible. Thank you.

Hello Tony, here is a link with more information on image settings:

    https://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-settings/

From your Dashboard you can click on the post you want to add the option to click on your image. Click on the image and select “edit” (the pencil icon) and that will bring up the image details. Under “Display Settings” you will see an option “Link to.” If you click on the drop down it will give you options for what will happen if the user clicks on the image. If you want them to be able to open the enlarged image select “Media File.”

Whenever you insert a picture into a post it will give you these options on the right hand side of the screen before you select “Insert into post.” You will also be able to choose the size at that point. WordPress will remember what you selected for the next time you want to insert a photo into a post. Somewhere along the line the settings probably changed somehow. But once you change it back it should remain that way for each photo you add after.

    Hope that answers your question!
