Hi, I was just reading about images and the importance of putting a caption. I have not been doing that as I did not know how though I now figured it out — somewhat. How do I get the caption to go at the bottom of the image and not the side? Here’s a link: http://fruitoftheword.com
As you can see in the first post, I added a caption but it is at the right hand side. I would like it at the bottom. I did not find how I can add it to the bottom. It automatically puts the caption to the side. The way I added the caption was via “Edit Post” – “Edit Image.”
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I see your blog. Vigilance theme and the image caption is below the image where it’s supposed to be.
Do you truly wish to have that large block of white space beside each image? If you do want the text to wrap then the instructions for doing that are here http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/image-alignment/

One more quesiton if I may. I like to work in WLW. I looked and looked — so I will ask here and hoping it’s appropriate. Is there a way to add a caption while in WLW?

okay, then i’ll just do it from my dashboard. Again, thanks for responding so quickly :)

Okay, really, one more thing, I promise :)
Now that I know how to do all this, there are some images that I will be using more than once. I post wrtings/sermons from preachers from the 1800’s and before and have a picture (public domain). So I don’t have to scroll through a bunch of images on my dashboard/media to find them, is there a way to organize the photos so I can find things easily? Is there a way to organize by category. I tried finding it on my own but no luck so far. I suspect that there is not a way as I can’t find anything like that but thought I would ask.

Go to Insert, go to Media Library, enter the title or terms describing the image into the search box, and when you find it, hit Show. From there, you can insert it.
-
You can find them easily by writing down the image name and url on an index card as I do for thos I know I will re-use. Or you can click the image upload icon click “Media Library” click “media Search” each time you want to re-use one that’s in the gallery.

I changed to the index card system because I had so many images and didn’t want to waste time looking for them in the Media Library each time I wanted to re-use one.

You’re welcome. I’m chuckling because I actually have a pack of 3″ x 5″ index cards for each of my blogs for this purpose. :)

LOL, I may end up doing that. So far, it’s only a few images that I will be reusing so it shouldn’t be too hard. But I do (and I hate to admit this), have an index box on my computer table filled with index cards for things I want to remember or need to remember.
I have two blogs here, the main one that is linked to my image and another one that is sort of a hodgepodge blog that is about anything that comes to mind that has nothing to do with my main blog.
How many blogs do you have?
-
I don’t want to answer your question because the correct answer would be far too many … lol :D I have three active blogs that are open to public. I have a diary journal type blog that will never be open to anyone else. You will find the feeds for my other two active and public blogs on onecoolsite, which is linked to my username. I have index card systems for each blog and for all my passwords too just in case. ;) (former librarian and paralegal)
