Is there a way to have both an image gallery as well as separate images on one page?
I have attempted to do this, but the images I don’t wish to be in the gallery end up there anyway, and I therefore have to remove them from the gallery. But this also removes them as a stand alone image as I desired. I have tried every method I could think of to keep the gallery and separate images but no luck. I have used the separate images file URL/location etc. for the independent image, but once deleted from the gallery, it too is gone.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes you can exclude images from an image gallery. Currently, galleries work by including all of the images that are attached to a given post or page. So, here’s what JustJennifer says you can do:
Upload images you want to include in the gallery from inside the post while you are editing. Then upload images that you don’t want to include in the gallery from the Media Library > Add New page. Images added that way will be unattached http://en.support.wordpress.com/media/unattached-files/ and you can add the unattached images from the Media Library into the content areas of the post without including them in any gallery.

Will you please post the complete URL for the blog in question starting with http:// when you post to the forum? Alternatively you can link your username the blog. Dashboard -> Users -> Personal Settings -> then scroll down to Account Details. Then scroll down to where it says ‘Website‘ select the URL for your primary wordpress.com blog starting and then save changes.
Now every time you sign into the forum we can all click on your username and your blog will be linked to it. And every time you leave a comment on a blog your username can be likewise clicked and your blog can be instantly located.
