Images and icons- Coraline.
-
Hey all, I need a little bit of help. If you go to my blog you can see a Facebook icon and a twitter Icon. How do get them beside each other, and not like they are currently? I have already linked them to their respective places. Also, once I edit the logo and make it the header, how would I be able to link it to something? Like a youtube video like now. Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

For the facebook and twitter icons, put the code for both in the same widget. To keep them a little separate, you might have to add some right margin to the first icon code.
For the header image, it will automatically link to your blog’s main page. That is pretty much standard operation. There is a trick that can be used with the CSS upgrade, but it requires knowledge of CSS.

Thank you for responding. Right now for the icons I am using 2 image widgets, so would I just put both urls in the same place separated with commas? On the header, I could figure out how to do that but I’m not paying to edit the css right now.

The image widget does not allow multiple images in one widget. You will have to write the code and put it into a text widget.
The best way of doing this is to start a draft post and insert and link the images there, then switch to the HTML tab, copy out the code and put it into the text widget.

Alright, sweet. Works. Thank you. One other little thing. Is it possible to put a youtube video on the side, like as a widget?
-
Unfortunately, I don’t believe there’s any way to put a YouTube in the sidebar that works.

You’re welcome.
You can paste this before the shortcode to add some space between the images and the video:
<div style="height:14px;"></div> -
Ok, thank you again. But I changed it so the video is one top so I don’t think I’d need that. That’s just what it looks like here, I don’t know how it looks to others.

THANKS to you guys [and especially panaghiotisadam], I now have a YouTube Video that plays in my sidebar in The Journalist v1.9 Theme. I used this code in a text widget.
<div style=”height:14px;”></div>
[gigya src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mdIFKALQkns?fs=1&hl=en_US" width="232" height="188" quality="high" wmode="transparent" allowFullScreen="false" ]I truly appreciate what one can find on this forum. Thanks to all the volunteers. I’ve wanted this since 11/08 when I started here. Thanks! Thanks! Thanks!

Thanks Path,
I tried this in a text widget, but my images did not show.
The best way of doing this is to start a draft post and insert and link the images there, then switch to the HTML tab, copy out the code and put it into the text widget.
I want 3 icons on one row. What next please?
TIA

Disregard my last request. The icons are now showing. I do not know why I had a problem. I’m glad it is resolved. Thanks! –jim

My gigya video worked for about 2 hours and stopped. I’ve tried to resolve over the last 8 hrs or so. It is not a computer, browser, or sidebar, or video issue. The video from pana no longer runs in a post or page. I do not see the clock working as it was. Any help on solving this problem. Thanks! –jim

Same problem here too. My code:
<div style=”height:14px;”></div>
[gigya src="http://www.youtube.com/v/HR_wAu4MQsg?fs=1&hl=en_US" width="190" height="188" quality=”high” wmode="transparent" allowFullScreen=”true” ]For the sidebar. I haven’t tested it on Primary page area itself.

I’m hoping there is a solution and that someone will come to our aid soon. This is too good to not have it as a feature for our blogs. –jim
