Images and text alignment
-
Hi,
My WordPress blog (http://50wordreview.wordpress.com/) theme is Cutline (Chris Pearson). I am having difficulty finding the correct code so that text doesn’t run up against my images – it looks bad they way it is – can any one help? (or should I call the police)

i tried to do what you wanted to but couldn’t figure out a solution either. if you set the image to align right, the words won’t run up like that though…

I use float instead of align. The snippet of code you can copy and paste from the thread below will give you a 10px margin around the photo. Just change right to left.

/nod to sulz and ella.
Have you tried adding vspace and hspace around your images? That can help to create space around the images in some themes, but unfortunately I don’t think it works in Cutline.
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic.php?id=17204&page&replies=2One way is to add a white border of about 10px around your picture using either Paint or a site like Phixr, and use that in your post instead. As it’s the same colour as your background, no-one will see the border, and your text will shift across. Works perfectly.

It’s good to hear that you worked this out. For reference there are special instructions from the designer for handling images in Cutline. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/09/23/cutline-and-images/
