images appear wrongly scaled
-
Still using the old editor version I noticed that lately some of the images I post appear mis-scaled and vertically stretched even though they are clearly landscape format and all code info seems alright. When opening a post with a so stretched image in a new window solely everything is alright. Opening just the image in a new window is fine, everything alright.
Why do the images appear stretched in the blog-home-view and how can I avoid this?
Many thanks, best, Wolfgang in der Wiesche

Hi –
I would love to take a closer look at that. Could you send me a link to the post or page where the images are scaled incorrectly? Thanks.

Hi Liz,
thank you for responding!
It’s: xtendedline.wordpress.com/I forgot to mention that everything looks fine on my iphone, the problem appears on my laptop and I have asked a friend to double check who confirmed the problem is also there on his.
If you open the link, the first post is alright because I arranged the images in a gallery. The second post (with the cruise ship at night) has the problem, the following doesn’t. Both images were edited the same way using the same software.
Then if you scroll down, the image appears stretched again on the June,5 – post, strangely enough the first image is stretched, the second isn’t. The May, 30 – post has the problem on both images, further down everything is ok, no more stretched images thereafter it seems.
It’s a bit strange, I don’t get it…
Thanks so much for looking into it, I’m curious…
Best, Wolfgang

Ah ok, the problem is this is a much older theme, it’s stopping the images from displaying their full width, but not stopping the height. :)
When you insert the images, instead of selecting full size, try large or medium.

Hi, thank you for looking into it! I guess you’re right, I’ll try and change the image size… and think about switching to another theme sooner or later. Best, Wolfgang
