Images are distorted on my posts

Hi! I have been posting images to my site from my iphone with the WordPress app, and although they look fine on the phone, they are distorted on the computer screen. They are really stretched out vertically. Any advice on how to fix this? I’m assuming it is a wonky setting.

It seems to be a setting in your theme where it attempts to display the full size image… so, in the case of the top image there, I see it is: height: 3264px, width: 2448px… but the theme only allows for a width of: 450 pixels but it shows the full height. Let me think of a solution, and get right back to you.

Ok, the best idea that I could come up, given the limitations, would be to set your camera to generate smaller images before uploading.
I get that you want the convenience of posting from your phone, so I think this might be the best route… to *create* smaller images by default. Most phones have the setting for smaller image sizes.
The other ways would be to have WordPress display a smaller version of the file automatically, but that would require modifications to the theme or by using a plugin. This would require a Business Plan.

Thanks! It looks like in the app I can modify the image size. I have to do it for each individual image, which is annoying, but it does let me change from the default “full size” to medium, large, or thumbnail, all of which look normal rather than distorted.

OK good. Having the camera create a smaller full sized image to begin with could work, but then that affects the overall quality of the image for when you want to use them for other purposes. So yes, that feels like a good solution. Although. not being able to set the default default would be annoying :)
