Images are sideways when embedded from flickr how can I fix?
-
I have embedded an image from Flickr into the HTML section of the edit function, which has worked before, but some images when viewed in the visual mode, aren’t up the right way. How can I rotate them so they are upright?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi.
You are in the wrong place. These forums are only for blogs/sites hosted by WordPress.comWordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and different http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
And you should ask in the WordPress.org forums.

Hi, don’t think so! The website above, isn’t the one in question, and it is hosted by wordpress

I have embedded an image from Flickr into the HTML section of the edit function…
Where are the image/images? (the post/posts URL)

<img src=”https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1641/26275975951_7fbc2f7923_o.jpg” width=”4032″ height=”3024″ alt=”IMG_3258″><script async src=”//embedr.flickr.com/assets/client-code.js” charset=”utf-8″></script> is being embedded and is appearing upside down

Did you have published a post with that image or images?
-
No, it is not published, it is being edited, and when I embed and preview the post, it is the wrong way up
-
Ok, if you are editing, I can’t see the issue with the images….
I tagged this thread with modlook tag for Staff Assistance.

Hey there,
For Flikr embeds, we encourage you to use the link code and not the HTML code that Flikr generates:
Some of the code that is generated from HTML isn’t supported by WordPress.com and that may be why you’re getting the sideways images.
Thanks!

Hi, I’ve tried adding that version of the link and it doesn’t embed an image. Am I doing something wrong?

I’ve noticed that when clicking the share icon on an image in Flickr, the given options are: “Share”, “Embed”, “Email” and “BBCode”. I don’t see a “link” option. Any ideas what’s going on here? Or is this a Flickr issue? Thanks

Ok, disregard the last post. The problem with that method of using the Flickr link code, is that when pasting it in a post, nothing actually happens. The link just stays as it is, and the photo doesn’t pop up in the way a YouTube video does. Any ideas?
thanks so much for the help. -
with regards to the HTML link, WordPress seems to get confused when a portrait iPhone photo is embedded from Flickr. It rotates those images for some reason. Is there an HTML tag/ phrase that can be added to rotate the image back?
Thanks again. -

Thanks again.@hightechflight: Ah, you may be on to something. This may not be a Flikr or WordPress issue. @harrycarr6: Were these photographs taken from an iphone / ipad? This sounds like it may be an EXIF orientation issue. This is an Apple related issue. Here is an explanation and a solution for users using OSX.
@harrycarr6: I see that the same images are correctly orientated in your media library. It might be easier to go to your media library, edit your image there to turn it and save it there. (for your existing images).
Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!
