Images are too light except when moused over
-
All the images I upload are very pale except when moused over. If you hover the mouse over the image, it will darken and look the way it’s intended to. This happens whether the images are linked or just embedded images with no link attached. It’s most awful for my sidebar images but isn’t great for the images embedded in the posts either.
Is this part of the CSS for the theme I’m using? I used to be pretty familiar with HTML and CSS, but it’s been years so I’m sure I’m no longer current. Googling it only turned up a Javascript way to darken images on mouseover – not sure if that’s in use in my theme or not. Whatever this is, I’d love to turn it off, the way it looks is driving me nuts.

That’s the way the Misty Lake theme is designed http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/misty-lake/

again, you are spot on Timethief; I thought maybe someone had tossed a hover pseudo-class into the CSS

Thanks! I don’t have the upgrade yet to edit CSS, so I’ll consider both that and maybe an alternate theme instead. I chose the theme from a thumbnail view so never saw that it would mute my images like that by design.
